Breast Cancer continues to affect one in every eight women with the prevalence rate now reaching women of child-bearing age. When we have breast cancer, we deal with cancer’s effect on our mind, body, family and work. The bodily changes impact how we see ourselves. Sue was diagnosed with breast cancer while pregnant with her first child in 2007. Seven and a half years later, after four surgeries and a chemotherapy she is in the final stages of reconstruction – having nipples tattooed over her mastectomy scars from Alma Boerland. Sue had the procedure filmed in order to create a documentary to help other women dealing with breast cancer. Parallel to the launch of the documentary, we had Sue’s presentation of her diary entries from her breast cancer experience.
